Last Week of Winter Tour, New Side Ventures

Hi folks,

We're only one week away from wrapping up the Winter Tour and sending the trusty old tour bus to a nice little farm upstate. We're in Columbus tomorrow night, followed by Buffalo, Northampton, Boston, and the Maine-variety of Portland.

As we mentioned last time around, this tour will mark the end of Punch Brothers' collective nomadic phase for the year so the boys can focus on writing the next record and explore some side-ventures. There will however be a few scattershot PB summer festival dates (one of which will be announced later this week so keep an eye out... foreshadowing!). As always, details on the tour page.

If you were worrying this would mean a devastating Pickles drought, we have plenty of news on that front to keep you nourished. Firstly, Noam will be a special guest on the live broadcast performance of A Prairie Home Companion next Saturday, February 23rd. If you live in St. Paul and would like to attend in person, tickets are available here.

We're also thrilled to announce the launch of a new Noam Pikelny project. This April, Noam will be joined by Bryan Sutton, Ronnie McCoury, Luke Bulla, and Barry Bales for a special evening of bluegrass in select Midwest cities. They'll be playing small and intimate venues, so get your tickets quickly when they go on sale this Friday. Until now, there has never been a gathering of members from Punch Brothers, The Del McCoury Band, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Hot Rize, & The Lyle Lovett Band outside of a sauna.  Noam will also be performing alongside Tim O'Brien at Telluride, Grey Fox, and RockyGrass this summer. Now we'd be remiss if we didn't give a hearty congratulatory "ahoy!" to Thile along with Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, and Edgar Meyer for their Best Folk Album win at the Grammys last night for The Goat Rodeo Sessions. We announced Chris's upcoming tour with Brad Mehldau in the last blast, but since then they have added a NYC date at Bowery Ballroom on April 9th. The summer festival circuit will also bring about the return of the Chris Thile and Michael Daves duo, which so far has only been confirmed at Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in Oak Hill, NY on July 20th but be prepared for more news on that front in the coming weeks.
